Built in 1897 by railroad magnate Henry Plant and situated on a high coastal bluff overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, the Biltmore is listed on the national Registry of Historic Places as the world largest occupied wooden structure.

The Biltmore has been lovingly preserved in the Victorian charm and offers guests turn-of-the-century style and elegance, including Queen Anne decorative pieces. Rooms are decorated with wall papers in subdued colors of the era. Complimentary tours are offered of the hotel and its underground railway as well as hidden stairways, children’s special dining rooms and the Historical Museum located within the hotel. Inside are gift and speciality shops, florist, Terrace Restaurant and Bar as well as large outside eating porch. It offers an outside pool, complimentary use of four clay tennis courts and use of 18 hole, par 72 championship golf course for nominal fees. Guests will enjoy complimentary use of an indoor heated pool and whirlpool and state of art fitness equipment. Access to locker rooms, steam and sauna, and other spa services including massages, eye, body and skin care treatment are available at additional fees. Rooms are being offered at a rate of $89 per double or king and a rate of $79 for one double (this room is smaller accommodating the one bed). Either Sun Parlor or Junior suites are available at additional costs. These rooms have been restored and have wooden baseboards, doors and baths with modern fixtures but older decor. The Biltmore offers over 13,500 sq. ft. of meeting space with in house AV support for a charge.
