Dear Friends and Conference Partners,
Planning for the 2004 Florida Association of Education Data Systems
Conference has been underway for several months. This year, we are
looking forward to an exciting and memorable conference at the Westin
Innisbrook Golf Resort in Tampa Florida. The conference dates have
been confirmed for September 27th-29th. Further, we want to build
on the success of previous years and improve the experience for
our members and you - our partners. To that end, I think you will
be pleased with some of the improvements we have already made for
this year.
• Our vendor area will be more spacious and will allow for
8x10 booths. Professionally piped and draped booth areas with single
line signage for a more finished and professional look will be provided
through Gulf Coast Expo. They will be responsible for all shipping/handling,
electrical and Internet services for a separate fee. The hotel will
not accept any shipping.
• The conference schedule has been modified for a better flow
and to allow for more concentrated time in the exhibit areas.
• Two new thematic events on Monday and Tuesday night have
been planned that should add a more creative and exciting opportunity
for relaxed conversation and fun.
• Prime time product specific sessions have been added over
last year to better accommodate demand.
The FAEDS conference has grown significantly over the last three
years. It is our hope that you will continue to be a committed and
significant part of that success. Our members are engaged in nothing
less that the transformation of the education enterprise through
the innovative use of technology. The conversations, friendships
and knowledge shared during the three days of our meeting are a
primary reason for our mutual success. Although the conference agenda
is packed, we wanted to offer a few new ideas this year to promote
an enjoyable atmosphere for everyone. These FAEDS Signature Events
will offer high visibility and exceptional opportunities for product
discussions in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.
On Monday night, we would like to hold the first annual FAEDS 500.
Building on the success and positive reviews of last years Madden
Football Tournament, we would like to pursue a NASCAR theme for
the Monday night social activity. Conference participants would
be able to race one another over an internal LAN using a NASCAR
simulation. Sponsors of this event might offer a trophy to the annual
winner and other giveaways or promotions. Program capabilities will
be explored to determine if sponsor logos can be placed on the simulated
cars as well. Overall, this activity would be very useful for those
companies trying to deliver a message about speed and performance.
Sponsorship of this will be open to any Platinum Plus sponsor. Equipment
and software needs to be provided by the sponsor.
On Tuesday night, in association with the annual pub party, we
would like to hold the first annual FAEDS Open. The Open, which
can be co-branded with a Platinum Plus sponsor's name, is a nighttime
putting tournament just outside of the pub using rope lighted courses
and lighted golf balls. Each of the holes can utilize a flag with
a vendor logo as well. Trophies and giveaways can be organized around
best scores and hole-in-ones. The marketing strategy for this event
can be varied and represents a unique opportunity to relate to the
overall conference venue at the resort. The resort can accommodate
all equipment needs for this event.
Sponsorship opportunities for this year's conference are organized
into four categories. The categories are listed and described in
the attached materials. Please be aware that the signature events,
featured sessions and special showcases are in short supply and
will fill quickly. Preference will be given to those who commit
to sponsorships first. In addition, we will only be able to accommodate
approximately 48 booths in this years expanded exhibition area.
Please remember to register for your space and sponsorships early.
Because of demand, sponsorship of events can be reserved only through
our receipt of a signed sponsor form via mail or fax. Date and time
of receipt will determine the order in which requests will be fulfilled.
I have included a sponsorship form, a detailed listing of the conference
opportunities and a schedule for your use.
