Florida schools are using more and more wireless technology and
today's students have access to wireless technology as well. In this
presentation, you will learn the ways to locate wireless access points
both your schools and any that may intrude on your school campus. You
will learn the ways that students will try and hack these wireless
systems using the same tools and techniques that they use. In the
security field knowing how hackers think and work allows you to secure
your network even better and protect your network resources and users
from these types of attacks. The presentation covers;
- Wireless attacks
- Software used
- Locating access points
- What to do when an access point is found
- Cracking encryption keys
- Accessing files
- Other type of wireless activities
If your school has deployed or is planning on deploying a wireless
network this is the presentation for you to attend.

The New Digital Divide
Accountability, the ubiquitous nature of technology, internal and
external demands for participation, and the changing nature of learning
have redefined the difference between the “have” and “have-nots” in
education. Going forward, the New Digital Divide will not be defined by
what you do with the technology, not what you have.

Palm Beach County School District Enterprise WorkplacePalm
Beach County Schools and IBM Corporation invite you to take a closer
look at The Palme Beach County Schools Workplace project moving forward
in the District. The Workplace project is much more than a traditional
Portal. Once mature, it will include enterprise single sign-on, content
management for both web content and documents, consist of multiple roles
integrated with Palm Beach County School District security policies and
it will be the platform for the Palm Beach County School District to
take advantage of service oriented architecture.
The Workplace project is planned in a phased implementation schedule
to allow for progressive implementation gains and benefits to be
recognized throughout the life of the development process. All phases
are based on a best practices, standards based, development approach
that seeks to create an SOA environment as we move through the
deployment process.
As the project becomes fully implemented, the Palm Beach County
School District Enterprise Workplace program initiative will support the
business and technology goals of the School District through
implementation of an single enterprise workplace framework, which is a
technology and system enabler to increase efficiency while specifically
improving communication, access to information, and business
transactions for users. The current phases of deployment are just the
first step in developing a role-based enterprise workplace for Palm
Beach County School District.
Join us in learning what the upcoming phases will bring in
capabilities and benefits to the schools. Also learn what decision
factors came into play when making the technology, staffing and
deployment decisions to support this endeavor.

Empowering The Next Generation Of Business And Learning Applications
With An "Open Approach"
The next generation of learning solutions must provide a ubiquitous,
parallel simulation of almost any scenario relevant to particular
knowledge needs. Such a simulation will enable users to take time out
from real life to replicate appropriate contexts that allow them to
practice and learn in a risk free, but objective and goal-based
environment. The dynamics of a true parallel, matrix-like learning
environment would be predicated on an open, virtual marketplace/learning
space that would allow gaming environments to be selected for a full
spectrum of scenarios, from the most common to the most specialized.
Thus, the individual or virtual community could select roles and
parameters needed to simulate a true learning experience.
