Although we all deal with challenging technical matters in our fields, we tend to avoid where our real problems may be. As a recent columnist in ComputerWorld noted: "The most difficult issues are working with people."

It is in that spirit that Athene Consultants, Inc., is offering, in conjunction with the FAEDS Board, a pair of half-day workshops to be held in conjunction with the 1998 SDCCMIS/FAEDS Conference:

• Coping With Stress Distress
• Working With Other People

These topics originated as parts of seminars that were offered for the CAUSE Management Institute (Boulder, CO) for several years quite successfully. They are currently part of the activities that Athene Consultants does on-site through speakers bureaus.

The first session on Stress will be held Sunday afternoon, November 1 at the conference site. The second, concentrating on Team-Building, will be held Monday morning November 2.at the same location. These sessions are designed to give participants additional value to their conference attendance.

For this special arrangement, the rate will be $30 per participant for each session. The FAEDS organization will receive all profits from these sessions. Either session will be canceled (and money returned) if fewer than 5 people have paid for a given workshop. The attendance will be capped at 25 people per session.

Participants will receive a full half-day of information and tips and strategies that they can take back and share with their organizations. The workshops will be highly interactive and handouts will be available.
